Choose an outcome you can judge
A workflow is easier to improve when you know what a useful result looks like. Start with one task: a description that answers a buyer's question, consistent option names or a clearer search title.
Choose a product with reliable source information. If the dimensions or materials are uncertain, automation will not settle the uncertainty for you. Correct the source or tell the writing step to leave unsupported details out.
Make the instruction concrete
Write down the fields to change, the audience, the structure and the facts to retain. “Improve this product” leaves most of those choices unresolved. “Use the verified materials and dimensions; write a short introduction followed by specifications; do not add certifications” gives a clearer task.
In Skuze, AI Product Update and SEO Optimization are separate steps. A search-metadata task does not need to rewrite the product description. Variant Options, alt text, tags and existing metafields also have their own place.
Keep the first path small
Use a template as a starting point or build from scratch. Add only the steps needed for the outcome. A Condition can limit which inputs continue; IF / ELSE can provide different actions for different inputs. Add a branch because the task needs it, not because a larger diagram looks more capable.
Use fixed values and templates when the answer is already known. A fixed tag does not need a model to invent it. Keep AI for the parts that need generation or interpretation.
Test the content, not just the status
Test simulates Shopify writes, but AI and research can still run and use Credits. Inspect the actual wording, selected fields, source links and errors. Check the result against the product facts and the customer question you started with.
Run now is different: it can make real changes from the saved draft. Before using it, read the order of the actions. Review / Approval pauses the steps that follow it; it does not hold back or reverse earlier product writes.
Turn a useful test into a routine
When the path behaves as intended, publish the workflow version for scheduled runs. Choose an appropriate interval, product selection and batch size. Scheduled selection is worker-based, so avoid treating it as an instant response to every Shopify change.
Open recorded runs to understand results, waiting items, errors and Credits. If a step fails, inspect the error and any external result before retrying from that step. Restore a previous workflow version as a draft when you need to revisit the setup; that restores configuration, not earlier store content.
Expand from a known result
Once you understand one workflow, reuse its supported steps or duplicate it for the next task. A blog workflow can connect ideas, research, article generation, SEO, a cover, review and an explicit publishing action.
The useful next step is not to automate everything. It is to make one recurring job understandable and repeatable.
